Wool Socks for the Needy in the Bucharest Area

With the help of a Jewish friend living in Bucharest, socks knitted in Finland could be distributed in the Dolj and Teleorman districts (southwest of Bucharest).

Our friend had visited elderly people in these areas a month earlier and sent us an urgent call for help. She asked us to send her these wonderful, warm wool socks from Finland. Many older people live there in very modest and cold conditions. A phone call to Finland was enough and a week later a package with hand-knitted wool socks was on its way from Finland to Bucharest. An additional package was sent from Vienna. Our friend was very happy about these gifts, which she immediately passed on to older, needy people.

A big thank you to our donors for their quick action!
